Boxmark Help

Know what's in every box without opening it.

Getting started

  1. Tap + to add a box. Pick a room or place and an optional name.
  2. Type what goes in, separated by commas — or tap the keyboard microphone and say the whole list.
  3. Snap a photo of the open box before you tape it shut.
  4. Tap the printer button to print QR labels, then tape one to each box.

Finding things later

Labels anyone can scan

Each label's QR code carries the box's contents, so anyone can scan it with any phone camera and see the list — even without Boxmark. If you scan a label of a box that isn't on your iPhone (for example after changing phones), Boxmark offers to add it back. Turn on Private for a box to keep its contents off the label. If you add items after printing, Boxmark reminds you to reprint the label.

Move day

Open Move Day on the home screen and tap Scan Boxes as They Arrive. Scan each box as it comes off the truck; Boxmark shows how many arrived and which are still missing. Switch to Unpacking to tick boxes off as you unpack — boxes marked “Open first” are at the top. You can also print a box checklist for your movers.

Backup & family

Settings → Back Up or Share with Family creates one file with every box, item and photo. Save it to Files or iCloud Drive, or AirDrop it to family — they tap the file to import your boxes. Importing never overwrites newer changes, and it always works, even on the free version.

Printing labels

Choose Large labels for plain paper (4 per page, cut along the dashed lines) or Avery 5160 for standard 30-per-sheet address labels. You can also share the PDF and print it from a computer.

Boxmark Pro

The free version holds 10 boxes. Boxmark Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited boxes. If you reinstall or get a new iPhone, open Settings in Boxmark and tap Restore Purchases.
